I get a kick out of these pictures. My Nate, practicing his ollies and kickflips and airs. … (I think all of these are “ollies” — where you spin the board 360 degrees beneath your feet and then land back on top of it.)
Go get ’em, kid. …

He is so awesome, our Nate!
Hands down, skateboarding is the coolest. Ever. And don’t you love the great hair that always seems to go with it? My older cousin used to skateboard at Big O back in the day. One of my favorite commercials is from the 70s, (might have been a Pepsi commercial?) with a girl in cut-off jeans, long brown hair, holding a pizza and skateboarding down the sidewalk. So quintessential California…
My nephew was into it for a while back in Junior High so I took him to see Tony Hawks. : )
Loved the film Wassup, Rockers for the skateboarding sub theme (not for younger kids)
Actually, Mom, an “ollie” is just where you do a ‘hop’ on your board. And the trick you are thinking of is called a 360 Shuv-It. (3-shuv for short.) And these are all different tricks. But I had totally forgotten about these!
