How many ways did I leave my heart in San Francisco? Well, it might have been about 10 ways, in about five places. Such a cool city. It has the restaurants, diversity, and energy of New York; but the history, charm, and sweetness of Main Street. It’s a great dichotomy.
I might have left my heart in a few places, but here are the things I loved the most:
- Visiting Alcatraz
- Riding the cable car
- Having a bread bowl at Boudin Factory
- Walking along Powell
- The great public transportation
- How well-dressed everyone was
- Our awesome hotel
- Having a drink at the Top of the Mark
- The old hotels and their stories
- Scala’s Bistro
- The history of the city
I’ll add links to each of those to tell more over time …
I think I loved the cable cars-trolleys the best as well as Alcatraz. The SF restaurants RULED and just exploring the city. I loved EVERY moment there! Being there with my beautiful and awesome wife just made it the perfect getaway. I can’t wait to go again and discover more of the city!
Boudin was a high point for me too!
Sounds like you got it covered!! More of a reason to find a bungalow in Marin and write more about the inspiring city!!
Hi, Judy! Ooooh, the bungalow sounds perfect. … (I found out that Danielle Steele lives there, actually, which I found amusing.)
Because of you it’s on my to be visited list. I’d love to vacation there!
Crystal — Very cool! I’ll keep adding details and linking it back to this post, so keep this post bookmarked for when you go! Maybe for your 8th Anniversary????? 🙂
I love walking along Powell too. San Francisco is just one of the best places I want to visit and I just can’t get enough of the place.
