The Mizwrite.com header — bright pink bougainvillea running along a wooden fence — is a photo I took at a local skatepark one afternoon when I was there with my youngest son. Instantly, I thought it would be perfect for the blog. First, because I love the colors. : )  Second, because bougainvillea grows all over Southern California and will always remind me of home. And third, because it’s so very “California” — and I think represents my writing.

The cropping and letters were done by my beautiful daughter Rene when she was 13. She is an artist, mostly working in fine art now, and this was her second or third attempt at doing some online graphic art. I just loved working with her, and it was fun to give her a place to “play” artistically.
