Book Club at My House!

So the April book club book, The Fault in Our Stars, was my selection, so volunteered to host. (Our book club switches around houses for hosting.)

Of course, for TFIOS, I had to have some orange tulips. (Points if you know why.)

For the menu, I decided to have pizza, since this was a YA book. But plain ol’ pizza didn’t seem exciting enough, so I decided to have an entire pizza-topping bar! I had individual shells for everyone, then multiple bowls of all kinds of toppings: pizza sauce or pesto, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, red bell peppers, green bell peppers, yellow bell peppers, tomatoes, onions, artichokes, jalapeno peppers, chopped olives, two kinds of mushrooms, sundried tomatoes, pineapple, spinach, arugula, pine nuts, feta cheese, parmesan cheese and mozzarella cheese. Everyone got pretty creative with their pizza concoctions!

Dessert was lemon cake, plus one of the members brought delicious caramel salted cookies, plus another brought these yummy and beautiful cupcakes:

We even had a brand-new baby joining us, as one of our members gave birth just three weeks prior! (Is that a dedicated book-clubber, or what???)

Isn’t she adorable?

The book discussion was great, the wine was flowing, and the friendship — as always — was awesome!

I love my book club!
