Yes, it really is a little like dating -- and takes some time to find "the one" -- but you build your list of what you're looking for as you go, and hopefully you stumble upon that person eventually (as long as you're putting yourself out there in the right places to meet others). And Crystal -- You might like a group, or might meet a single partner in a group, so it might be worth a try someday. I love this post. I've actually been wondering about critique groups, but haven't had the nerve to pursue it. I'm glad I read this because I think I'll just hold and wait. I have a critique partner, but she's in the midst of so much right now, bless her. Single mom-hood is not for sissies. I think I'd rather have one or two trusted people rather than a group of people. You can search forever and not find a perfect crit partner. And it is weird how we do work at the exact same pace and have the exact same time frame to work in. You have Charlie and Lia that is half done, and I have another one half done...it's awesome isn't it? As I said the the other day.
