Yes, Balboa is so romantic. It doesn't have the ostentatious feeling that some beach communities can have. Yet it's not quite as laid-back as San Clemente is, either (which I also love). It has a neat, sort of "in-between," historical (ethereal?) quality about it. Jeanne, that's so neat that you and your husband planned your future there when you got engaged.
